Themes:

The COVID-19 crisis has, amongst other aspects, disrupted global value chains, intensifying ongoing social and political pressures for embracing digitalisation and deglobalising the economy. In this second workshop, we take stock of global developments, set in motion prior to the crisis, while delving deep into their local effects in terms of economic activity and regional labour markets using Agder as a case.

Following a keynote by Prof. Bart Los, a senior researcher involved with the GI-Ni project, a panel of speakers representing different regional stakeholders will share their knowledge and experiences addressing some of the following questions:

• What is happening to global value chains and what does the future look like?
• How is regional industry adapting to the new circumstances and what are the key challenges?
• To what extent are regional labour markets resilient enough to accommodate to the emerging demands?
• Does the Nordic tripartite governance model provide key lessons to other countries and regions?

Speakers:
• Associate Professor Stina Torjesen, the School of Business and Law at the
University of Agder, conference leader
• Professor Bart Los, University of Groningen
• Henrik Munthe, Lawyer in the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO)
• Nina Mjøberg, LO Norway
• Ton Driessen, President in the European Workplace Innovation Network
• Professor Steven Dhondt, TNO, leader of the GI-NI project
