The course introduces basic techniques for Design of Experiments relevant to industrial problems. Different basic techniques will be presented. Among these are factorial and reduced factorial design and central composite designs. The computer exercises use the software package Sirius to provide hands-on experience with design cases. An industrial example will be used to illustrate simultaneously optimization of four responses.

Dr. Bjørn Grung is associate professor in chemometrics at the Department of Chemistry, University of Bergen.

Dr. Frode Brakstad is head of the Department POSTEC in Tel-Tek. Frode held a Master in Analytical Chemistry (1986) and a PhD on Chemometrics (1994).
