Contributes in Batteries Europe work group
Stephen Sayfritz, research leader in Eyde Cluster, contributes in Batteries Europe work group which will give important suggestions to EU´s strategic research - and innovation plans.
Norway’s strong process industry and raw material tradition will enable it to take a leading role in European LIB value chain by producing specialized LIB products based on renewable energy. This powered by nature advantage, coupled with material expertise makes Norway an attractive investment opportunity along the whole value chain.
Important contributions
The work group will give important contributions to SET-Plan 7, which is EU´s strategic research and innovation plans for batteries and e-mobility. This will be realised among other things, through announcements in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
Batteri materials and recycling
Stephen Sayfritz, research leader in Eyde Cluster, and contributor in the national battery project BATMAN, contributes in work group 2, with it´s focus on battery materials and recycling of lithium ion batteries (LIB).
- This is an important focus area for the Norwegian process industry, who has a good opportunity to take a position in a growing marked for sustainable LIB-batteries in Europe, says Sayfritz.
