COGNIMAN: Conference on AI, Data, and Robotics

New EU regulations and how to adopt artificial intelligence in a reliable and practical way were among the topics at this year’s international conference “AI, Data and Robotics Forum” in Stavanger.

-Europe doesn’t just need AI research – we also need reliable and practically applicable AI and robotics, says Nadia Handeland, Head of Competence at Eyde Cluster.

She attended this year’s AI, Data and Robotics Forum, which was held in Stavanger and organized by NORCE, with Eyde Cluster participating as a sponsor through the COGNIMAN-project.

New Trends

-Participants had the opportunity to network and expand their knowledge, meet and connect with like-minded professionals, gain insights, and explore potential collaborations, says Handeland, who explored new trends in AI, data, and robotics.

She took part in sessions covering updates to the AI-Act, the EU’s framework for artificial intelligence, with topics such as integrated safety and security and best practices.

EU Regulations

-It was very inspiring. The focus was on new EU-level rules for how we use AI, and how we can implement artificial intelligence in industry, the economy, healthcare, and education. We also discussed the opportunities it can create and the risks we may face, says Handeland.

Next year’s conference is planned to be held in Portugal, October 13–15.
