-We must ensure global competitiveness, not just within the EU
During the input meetings at Aspire’s Community Day in Brussels, for the upcoming calls under the Clean Industrial Deal as well as Cluster 4, it was emphasized that access to raw materials, global competitiveness, and support from the market—not just from public funding instruments—are important aspects to highlight.
Elkem and Cybernetica participated in the input meetings on behalf of the Eyde Cluster.
Identifying the actual needs
The goal of the day was to provide input for the upcoming calls under CID (Clean Industrial Deal) and the classic Cluster 4 calls. Frank Spetland moderated two roundtable sessions together with Ron Veerdmester from PNO, where they challenged participants on whether the calls address the actual needs of circular economy actors and if there are any gaps in the calls that should be communicated to the Commission and included in the final announcements.
– A productive trip
Torgeir Ulset from Elkem considered the trip productive. Among other things, he had positive discussions about further utilization of Elkem’s pilot facilities at Fiskå in Kristiansand and contributed input related to circularity.
